Building Independent Political Power

The Partnership Action Fund (TPAF) is a collaborative pooled fund focused on increasing the 501c4 sustainability and impact of independent power-building organizations. Our work is rooted in the collective values of healing, nature, and community. We know that to achieve our work, we need whole leaders and organizations. Our mission is to provide the resourcing to make them whole.

TPAF works through the framework and vision of developing independent political power (IPP) rooted in and accountable to multi-racial and multi-class bases within states. We invest in member-led organizations and networks as the critical vehicles, ensuring that these communities have the power to define their problems, set an agenda, implement it, maintain it — and win. We believe that independent power creates the conditions necessary for policy, community, and electoral change. Without healthy, sustainable membership-based organizations, power accumulates in a hierarchical system, unable to transfer the accumulated influence into meaningful and lasting material change for communities most impacted by systematic inequalities and white supremacy.

We are on a mission to provide early 501c4 investments to independent power-building organizations to strengthen their internal capacity, to provide space for program planning and execution, and to leverage our grants for additional resources.
